Pictoo?s NameGames, an educational iPad app that teaches children, 8 months and older, the names and faces of their family and friends, is now available for Free on the Apple App Store. Hosted by Pictoo, a playful baby giraffe, the app creates a fun, interactive learning environment that brings photos to life while teaching children about their loved ones. The game was developed by NameGames LLC and Zaah.
?As a parent with family spread out across the country, I?ve spent hours flipping through photo albums with my children to teach them about their family.? says NameGames, LLC co-founder Real Canty, PhD. ?Pictoo?s NameGames helps children recognize friends and relatives, no matter where they live, creating positive interactions which are the seeds of strong, meaningful relationships.?
Pictoo?s NameGames allows parents to create a ?Bio? for each person they want their child to know. Simply upload a picture, record a name and watch as they become part of the game. Specifically designed to be developmentally appropriate for young children, the app is aligned with Early Learning Standards from across the country.
?It?s incredible how quickly young children learn to interact with technology. We paid close attention to how our children played with Pictoo?s NameGames, and used those observations in developing the game.? says Zaah founder Maurice Freedman. ?We love working with the NameGames team. Knowing we?ve helped families and children connect with each other through technology is very rewarding.?
?Pictoo?s NameGames accelerates the development of important learning skills that prepare young children for future reading, math, and science in school. Using images of people and objects that children interact with in the real world maximizes learning in a way that other apps cannot.? ? NameGames, LLC co-founder Jordan Lippman, PhD.
