A Lincoln chef has progressed to the semi-final stage BBC2's Masterchef: The Professionals.
Alec Maxfield, head chef at the Double Tree by Hilton on the Brayford in Lincoln, made it to the semi-final after last night's show.

The 30-year-old passed the first stage of the challenge after cooking pan-fried pollock with a celeriac and lemon puree with crushed new potatoes.
He then had to prepare another main course and dessert to present to food critics.
He cooked pan-fried turbot with peas and beef dripping potatoes and pea puree; scallop with a cabernet sauvignon reduction; tartar velout?. This was followed by a liquid chocolate cake with variations of apricot ? pur?e, gel, raw apricot, poached apricot and a sorbet.
He received positive feedback from critics Tracey MacLeod and Jay Rayner, as well as judges Gregg Wallace and Michel Roux junior as he progressed to the semi-final.
Ms MacLeod said that the turbot dish was 'the best composed dish of ther day' and Ms Rayner hailed the chocolate fondant as 'a bit of a triumph'.
?It is such a relief to get through,? he Mr Maxfield.
?I couldn?t be happier. I don?t want to leave. I want to go all the way through to the final.?
The semi-final of Masterchef: The Professionals will be shown on BBC2 on Monday at 8.30pm.
